As the web page (https://www.berkeleyhall.org/news-detail?pk=769053) describes: Sixth graders spent the day working in their assigned Caste. After learning about the Ancient Indian civilizations and the development of the Caste system, 6th graders were assigned the following roles: Brahmin (Priests), Kshatriyas (rulers and warriors), Vaishyas (merchants), Sudras (workers), and Chandalas (untouchables). Each person was then given 5 task cards (Dharma) that they needed to complete before they could "learn to read Sanskrit" (decode a secret message), vote, and create laws.... Before the game started, Brahmins were allowed to give 4 task cards to anyone below them, Kshatriyas 3 task cards, Vaishyas 2 task cards, Sudras 1 task card, and Chandalas 0. By the end of trading, many Brahmins had only 1 task card, while the poor Chandalas had acquired 10 task cards. They spent the rest of the period plugging away at their tasks. The tasks included picking up the garbage, buidling a house, gathering eggs, milking the cow, transporting water, making clothes, making shoes, taking care of the baby, sweeping the palace, cooking dinner, farming for food, and separating the wheat. After the activity, students discussed in groups based on caste their perspective of this system. They were able to see its value in creating a harmonious, efficient society, but could not come to terms with the injustice it perpetuated. Even the Brahmins felt that the system should be changed.

Malappuram is considered to be the hotbed for Islamist fundamentalism. The presence of the Muslim League as a formidable force has also resulted in the expansion of radicalisation in the Malappuram district.

In an article dated, November 6th 2020, Audrey Truschke, an Associate Professor of South Asian History at Rutgers University Newark, mentions a paragraph: “Krishna’s discourse to Arjuna, known as the Bhagavadgita (‘Song of the Lord’), or Gita for short, is often read as a standalone work today, and revered by many across the world for its insights on morality and even nonviolence. In the 20th century, Mahatma Gandhi understood the Gita to support nonviolent resistance to colonial oppression. In the Mahabharata’s plot, however, the Bhagavadgita rationalises mass slaughter.”

In an article, published on November 1st, 2020, Weave Family writes about the Hindu festival of Diwali. Towards the end, in Activity 1 about creating your own lamp, the last two bullet points say: • Discuss how people who worship and pray to lifeless idols are living in spiritual darkness. Read John 8:12 together. Talk about Jesus’ promise in this verse. • Pray that Hindu families would come to know Jesus, the Light of the World, who overcomes spiritual darkness and defeats all evil. In the Activity 2, about creating a colorful design, one of the statements say: “Pray that many Hindu families would turn from their idols and welcome Jesus into their lives as their Savior and Lord.” Weave Family, based in Arkansas (most likely Fayetteville, where the area code of their contact number belongs and the location of its parent organization, Center for Mission Mobilization, is), is a ministry of Center for Mission Mobilization. Soundararajaperumal Temple is a temple dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu, located in Thadikombu, a village near Dindigul in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is believed to have been built by Achyuta Deva Raya during the 16th century AD.

The article fails to discuss the other side which has to do with the intention of appeasement behind the ad which shows only Muslims as accommodating to a Hindu's feelings. The claim of love jihad is discarded completely as a conspiracy theory of "radical Hindus", and no mention is made on how the ad is more tuned to tell Hindus to accept the gesture for unity and not to create differences.

In an article, originally published on September 24th, 2020, Weave Family describes the Hindu threading ceremony (upnayana). At the end, the article suggests a family activity: “Brahmins are the highest-ranking families in India. How do they expect Dalits (dah-leets), considered the lowest people, to treat them? Cut a slip of paper for each family member. Write Brahmin on half of the slips and Dalit on the rest. Have each person choose a slip of paper to discover his rank. Each person will take on his high- or low-class role during a meal. Read the following rules for Brahmins: You do not set the table, clear, or do dishes. You can ask the Dalits to serve you. Do not sit next to the Dalits. You may have two helpings of food. Now read rules for Dalits: You will set the table, serve the Brahmins dinner, and clean up after them. Do not sit next to them or speak to them unless they ask you a question. You may not have more than one helping of food. After the meal, talk about this experience. Allow each person to share how he felt during the role-playing. Read Philippians 2:3-11 and talk about how Jesus wants us to treat others people.” In the end, it also asks: Pray: • In India, many believers in Jesus are Dalits. Brahmins think that becoming a believer in Jesus will lower their spiritual position and place in society. Pray that their eyes will be opened to see that Jesus offers them eternal life as children of the King of Kings. • Brahmins believe they are guardians of Hinduism and were created to instruct people in their spiritual journey. Others respect and look up to them. Pray that God will draw Brahmins to Himself and that they will be used to teach many Indian families how to love and follow Jesus.
